It snail be 12" in diameter with a minimum sensi- tivity rating of 53 db (El A) measured on axis and shall have uniform distribution over a horizontal angle of 90§ and a vertical angle of 40§. It shall have a continuous power rating of 20 watts and a peak power rating of 30 watts. The low freauency voice coil shall be approximately 3" in diameter and the high fre- quency voice coil shall be approximately %" in diameter. Both coils shall be of edge wound aluminum ribbon. Voice coils of smaller diameter or of round wire will not be acceptable under this specification. The low fre- quency voice coil shall ooerate in a magnetic field of at least 11,400 gauss derived from an Alnico V magnet of at least 1.8 pounds. It shall operate in a magnetic field of at least 14,750 gauss, derived from an Alnico V magnet of at least 2.25 pounds. The high frequency coil shall be at least 1%" in diameter and shall be of edge wound aluminum ribbon ooerating in a magnetic field of at least 12,500 gauss derived from an Alnico V magnet of at least .5 pound. The diaphragm shall be of aluminum with tangential compliances. The speaker shall be supplied with a 1,600 cycle network incorporating both high and low frequency attenuat- ing sections. The overall frequency response shall be guaranteed by the manufacturer to reproduce all tones from 20 to 22,000 cycles.
